Student Access to Zoom Meetings
Dear parents and carers
Some students have experienced difficulties logging in to Zoom meetings with their classes. This may be because NSW DoE has its own Zoom console for use with students. Instructions were provided as attachments with the CLPs for week 2. For further assistance please see below.
When using a desktop browser
If you are being asked to provide your child's email address, it is more than likely that you are attempting to log on to zoom.us.
If you wish to avoid needing to use the full email address to sign in to zoom, you can access the NSW DoE Zoom console via https://nsweducation.zoom.us
When logging in via this address your child will only need their department credentials in most cases firstname.lastname, not their full email address. Some usernames may include a number after the last name.
When using mobile apps
If using a mobile device, you will need to access Zoom via the app.
Once in the app, tap sign in, then SSO. Type nsweducation and then tap continue.
The DoE log on screen will appear. Sign in with your normal DoE credentials, in most cases firstname.lastname. Some usernames may include a number after the last name.
Once you are logged in to Zoom, you will be able to use the meeting ID and password provided by your teacher to join the meeting.
For more information please refer to the DoE Fact Sheet attached.
If your child continues to experience difficulties joining their class meetings, please make contact with your child's class teacher for additional guidance. Just as the students are very eager to see their classmates, the teachers are equally as eager to support all of their students in connecting with each other.
